I'm reposting the following in hopes that someone else might have some recent experience with a similar situation.

Am I remembering correctly that you said your son's girlfriend was staying here for six months? Did she have any problems with immigration?

As you know, our daughter's boyfriend is coming later this month. He was unable to get a work visa for the US. But did get a 12 month work visa for Cananda. He's flying into O'Hare, staying here for a few days and then driving to school in MA with DD. About 2 weeks after his arrival, he'll be taking a bus to Toronto.

He already has the bus ticket plus a ticket to return to Ireland in a year (and, of course, his work visa for Canada). But because of all the horror stories they've heard, both he and our daughter are terrified that US Immigration won't let him in. They're starting to make me nervous. So I'm curious to know whether your son's girlfriend ran into any difficulties.

Thanks, ange! And I'm glad to hear your interview went well!
