question about certain Houston highways

whats the difference between Nasa Parkway and Nasa Bypass? Im planning an upcoming trip and will need to travel east all the way to Egret and can take either of these routes to get there from I-45 south (coming north out of Houston proper).

I looked on google maps and noticed that Nasa Parkway seems to have many stoplight intersections, and that Nasa Bypass seems to be some sort of elevated highway. Is the bypass a toll road by chance? cause I am wanting to avoid toll roads....if not, is it better for me to take Nasa Bypass to get to Egret instead of having to wait through many stoplight intersections along Nasa Parkway?
