quasi-speakeasy in NYC?

I may have been drunk ;-) but I thought I read that there is a bar in NYC where you enter a hot dog shop and then walk to the back, enter a vintage phone booth, and somehow gain entrance to the bar, a la' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe magic portal closet or something? Am I crazy?

Also, anyone know of any other cool spots like this? I've heard of Chumley's, and the Campbell Apartment in Grand Central Terminal, but what others?

Ahh, that's PDT: from NY Mag's site:
PDT is the hot-dog joint for grown-ups. Actually, it’s the cocktail-lounge annex to Crif Dogs, an East Village mainstay known for its deep-fried Jersey-style franks. Accessed through a vintage phone booth within Crif Dogs, PDT (short for Please Don’t Tell) is a snug, sexy speakeasy with a twist: Along with its high-quality classic cocktails and a well-chosen selection of beer and wine, patrons can order food from Crif’s kitchen next door . . .
Crif Dogs is at 113 St. Marks Place between 1st and A

Glad I read this post, sounds neat. I enjoy the Safe House in Milwaukee, along the same lines.

Now that Chumley's is closed (temporarily, hopefully), my favorite "speakeasy" is the Back Room on Norfolk Street.

Have dinner at Schiller's, then walk around the corner to the Back Room.
