We've been all through New England, but not here. We have a few days. We like small cities with walk-around convenience. Boutiques. Decent restaurants. Maybe a theatre. We know this isn't a small quaint village, but also not a "big" city. What ya' think? What's to do?
Providence in April for 2 days?

Federal Hill is Providence's "Little Italy" and has several good food options on or close by Atwells Avenue (Costantino's Venda Ravioli, Pane e vino, Mediterraneo, Angelo's Civita Farnese, plus Pastiche for dessert). The place for New York System hot wieners is Olneyville New York System. Also check the Chowhound website for restaurant info.
Two days is about right for this city in my experience.
