Priceline...best price for 2 or 4 star hotel?

Am going to Chicago in a few weeks for a quick weekend trip with the girls. We are wanting to stay near Michigan Av. Am curious to know what deals people have recently gotten for a 3 or 4 star through Priceline.
thanks

You can get bidding strategies, great reports, list of hotels people have won, etc., at www.biddingfortravel.com.

We bid for a four star on Miracle Mile and got Westin Chicago River North for $99. I've heard that others got it as low as $79. If you link from the bidding for travel site I think that you can get a five star option and I've know people that have gotten the Palmer House for $99.

On Hotwire we stayed at the Tremont (boutique) for $62 in September and the Westin Michigan Av (4stars) for $78 November 1.

We've used Priceline for years for airline tickets and had always been happy, so we tried it for hotels last year. Although the service people were helpful and friendly, the deal they gave us was not nearly as good as what I could have gotten on hotels.com. They matched the price, but be sure to do your homework if you use Priceline.
