Anyone ever been to Presque Isle peninsula in Erie, PA? Is it worth visiting for a day or two? We are headed to the 1000 Islands and thought that might be a good place to stop on our way from Chicago. Any thoughts?

It is fun for a day at the beach but I would not stay for the night. The park managers residence is in the bottom of the small lighthouse.
You would probably enjoy Niagara Falls more.
There is an amusement park near the entrance to Presque Isle.
I do remember a lot of Cottonwood seeds that looked like snow on the ground.
If you end up staying in Erie, stay in a motel on Peach Street just off I-90.
