Predictions for peak leaf color in September?

Jump to last reply

We're planning a long weekend to the Telluride/Ourey area sometime in September to see the fall colors. Our choices are the weekend of September 13th or the 27th. What's the color schedule look like this year?

Here in the midwest, we're already seeing a little fall color because of the cooler than normal summer temperatures. September 13th fits our schedule the best, but I'm concerned that might be too early. Anyone in the area with a "live" report? What are the experts saying for optimum leaf viewing?
