Pre-trip beauty/health routine?

Anyone else have a beauty and health routine you go through before a trip? I was comparing notes with a friend about this.
About a week before I go, I do the diet deprivation thing -- no alcohol or treats. Want to lose that pound or two before I really splurge on vacation.
A few days before, I get a pedicure and sometimes a manicure.
Then WAXING of the bikini area. I'm a recent convert to the Brazilian wax.
Two days before, drink extra water, take vitamins, and kyodopholus/acidopholus if I'm going to a spot with questionable drinking water.

Sometimes I think I should chuck all this and do my "routine" once I arrive at my destination. But then I cringe to think that I could be getting a Brazilian wax from an "unknown quantity."

Does anyone else out there go through this type of routine? And is this strictly a girl thing?

I don't do anything healthy before a trip. The most I might do is not drink out of the common cup for communion, or not donate blood beforehand. I have one friend who loses 5 pounds before any vacation, and another who takes goldenseal/echinacea for a week or two before plane flights. Unfortunately, my self care doesn't start till I start the vacation.

I don't do healthy things but I do the waxing routine. Nothing is worse then being on vacation and spending your time in the bathroom with a razor.

Nope, don't do any of that stuff - well maybe drink extra water the day before the trip, but that's it. Other than that, as long as I get everything I need packed and the house straightened up, I'm good to go.

Ahh, so it isn't just me. LOL Yes I do have my pre-vacation grooming routine. I get a manicure and pedicure, hair cut and colored, teeth cleaned and whitened and the requisite waxing if it's a beach-y type vacation.

I have found this stuff that is great for looking like you just got the nails done but doesn't involve going to the nail guru. It is called OPI nail envy. After using it about a month, I have a natural french manicure, which I can repolish at will. It comes in gloss and matte, strengthens the nails til they feel like the fake things but look natural. Otherwise I get the haircut and wax, shopping for new stuff to wear is my fav thing before a trip.

Well Paul, if you can take that Brazilian wax, I'll buy you a glass of good thirty yr. old Scotch(my hubby's favorite, I'm a wino). Hey, I always tell the waxing gal that compared to childbirth, the waxing torture never even comes close, lol Have to admit, I've seen a few hairy back/shouldered men that should have considered waxing,(might score better dates too). Does anyone remember Robin Williams before he became a major star? He could have been featured on the Discovery channel, half man half ape, film at 11!
