To find your original post, just click on your screen name next to "welcome."

How many people are you feeding for $100?

Feeding 2 or us. Where is the "welcome"...? I don't see anything that says welcome. We used to put our screen name in the search box but that doesn't work..(I have a Mac computer)..maybe I am on the wrong page?

Thank you..I just saw the welcome...!!! ...so do you know a restaurant for pre dinner?..we once ate at District and that was good but we wanted to try something different.

Again thanks for the hint on finding old posts.

Pomaire for well prepared Chilean food is different.

There are a slew of new restaurants on Ninth Avenue, is anyone adventurous to go try one?

Scarlatto's on 47th St. has a good pre fixe theatre menu. ($30 or $35 for 3 courses, I forget which). The food is really good.

Ate at Pomaire for the first time last month also pre-theatre. Really enjoyed the food and service was very friendly. I'd like to return when I'm not so anxious to get out early.

We ate at Saju Bistro before Billy Elliot. They have a $28/person prix fixe that was very good. Mussels appetizer was huge and hanger steak was good. We had to ask for the prix fixe menu though. http://www.menupages.com/restaurants/saju/

Chez Josephine is a more unusual, unique place but is not as close to the theater and will be pricier. They have live music nightly but it starts as you'd be getting ready to leave.

Chez Jopephine does indeed have a pre-theater dinner. In fact, they currently have a special $35 prix-fixe menu.

It's 4 1/2 blocks from the theater (just west of 9th Avenue on 42nd Street). And, it's certainly walkable. The staff is very used to getting you out of the restaurant in time to make the show. ake reservations for 5:45-6 and you'll be fine.

The food is better at Angus McIndoe's, which is just a block or two from the Imperial if memory serves. Save Chez Josephine for drinks afterwards and enjoy the pianist.

Sorry, jd, but I don't agree with you about the relative merits of the food at the two restaurants. I'll take CJ anytime for food, ambiance and service!

I'll give you CJs for ambiance, howard, but am sticking with AM for both food and service. Been to AM's many more times, I'll admit!
