Poipu Kai Resort - Kauai

I just found what I believe to be an outstanding rate thru Suite Paradise for the above place.
Anybody stayed here and rented thru Suite Paradise? I have read trip advisor reviews and they are very good.
For a 1BR/1BA Garden Deluxe it is only $132/night before taxes, etc, total of $294.14. I only need this for 2 nights and there are not cleaning fees or anything else. Plus, it's like 1,000 sf.
This bothers me as I have been taught.."If it seems too good to be true, it probably is"
Comments please.

We've stayed at Poipu Kai a number of times. It's a big sprawling resort with a number of low-rise bldgs but is very well maintained and has easy access to Brenneke's Beach and Poipu Beach Park. Suite Paradise is easy to work with and will help sort out any problems.

We rented an ocean front (Shipwreck Beach) condo at Poipu Kai through Suite Paradise eleven years ago. No problems. Great unit. Two years earlier we rented there but were pre-empted by Hurricane Iniki. We got a prompt refund of our deposit. Nothing more recent, but they have a long history on Kauai.

My wife, teen daughter, and I spent 7 nights there last August. Our unit was showing some age, wear and tear but was clean and comfortable.
The unit you get may be different. We had no issues with Suite Paradise. I would use them again.

Iceeu2, I think the main "problem" with S-P is that they won't guarantee a specific unit or, in the case of Poipu Kai, a unit in a particular section within the resort area. I've recently read that they will now do this at extra cost. Last year I found their online rate hard to beat and the whole party was pleased at how it all turned out in the end. I put up a site at www.pspercy.com
Specifically, the tab marked "The End" has a copy of the PK layout so you can see how the different sections are located within the whole. Click to enlarge and then mouse over and click on orange blob in lower right to get full size (assuming you're using IE).We stayed in the Manualoha section and, like I said, we were very pleased.
Good hunting !

Hi Bill...I have a 2 night booked at the new Courtyard by Marriott, just was looking around since we are going to be spending 7 more nights in the same area.

I have been bidding forever on priceline thinking we could get the Marriot in Lihue, but not working.

I would really like to stay on the north shore for the 2 nights, but not gonna pay the price at The Princeville and other places have what I think are outrageous add ons (cleaning fees & agent fees).....

So, I may just wait until a little closer to time and see what happens.
You got any ideas?

i2,

I've never used priceline. Can you bid on the Kaua`i Sheraton through them? If so, that might be an option.

Have you thought about the Hanalei Bay Resort?

Good luck.

Bill, you can't bid a specific hotel on Priceline, but you can figure out what hotel you might get by researching on biddingfortravel.com

Yes, the Sheraton does come up, but also the Radisson and Kiahuna Plantation are also possibilities.

The Hanalei Bay comes up also, but I have read so many negative reviews on it that I am afraid to bid the Princeville area.

We were able to get a $128 rate at the Courtyard, so I amy just keep that. At least I know it's newly remodeled so it should be clean also.

Bill, as of this moment, I only have 65 more days until 's!!

i2,
Nice! 65! Just keep rubbin it in. I'll get my turn after you come back!

Which is better: pre-trip excitment or sex?

Stayed at Poipu Kai thru SP last July - (2) 2 bedroom units. Both were clean and comfortable. About a 10 minute walk to the beach, but thru the very nice grounds. There was a pool within 50 yards (easier to watch the kids). Nothing deluxe, but for the price didn't expect it to be either. Overall, felt they were a good value for the money.

We stayed at Suite Paradise in October 2 years ago. We had a really great price for a 1/1 Garden view (with very partial ocean view) - something like $110/night. Turned out that the bedroom was street-side, which probably accounted for the low price. Be sure to check where the BR is located in your unit. In spite of that, we thought it was great. Large rooms, very clean and well appointed. Easy walk to beaches; saw amazing sunsets from Poipu Beach, only a few minutes walk away. Beautifully landscaped grounds. I'm sure you'll love it there - and will likely wish you could stay longer. If you can, take a walk on the paved paths through the communities up the coast. It leads to the Hyatt and is amazing! We're planning a trip to BI and would love to find a place like Suite Paradise in Hilo area (I've already posted a request for info - Hilo condo with pool). Have fun! -Bobbe
