Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs

My husband and I stayed there years ago and liked it. Now I'm planning a short stay there in late June with my two older kids (18 and 20) while the hubs and 13-year-old go to Boy Scout camp. I see a variety of reviews on TripAdvisor, etc.

Has anyone stayed there recently? What is your opinion as to cleanliness, whether rooms are updated, etc.? I've got a really good deal there ($120 a night) so want to stay but don't want to get there and be sorely disappointed.

We're going to lounge by the pool, maybe do some shopping in Phoenix/Scottsdale, do some sightseeing. We know it's hot, but we like it. We're celebrating my daughter's high school graduation.

Thanks in advance for your reviews.

The reason you got such a 'really good deal' is because it is the off season and it will be very hot . . . plus the resort will be undergoing renovations.

Next winter the same room would be +$300.

Yes, I am aware of the heat and the renovations. I want to know if someone has stayed there recently who can give me some idea of whether it's really shabby and dirty or OK.

Really, janisj, if you cannot contribute something helpful, please don't reply to my posts. This is a recurring theme with you. I feel like your replies to my posts verge on bullying behavior.

If you've actually stayed at the Tapatio Cliffs property recently and can answer my question, please do.

What the heck are you talking about?

I didn't attack you or anything of the sort. I have friends who were going to book there but changed their plans because of the construction. I thought I was helping you . . .

A hotel under renovations almost ALWAYS offers good deals . . . because it is under renovations. Which would be addressing any of the 'shabby' issues.

carry on.

. . . not sure why the anger - all I ever remember posting to your threads is helping you a couple of years ago w/ a trip to London. Guess no good deed goes unpunished

I haven't stayed there recently, but is this the Hilton that has cabanas at the pool? If so, we rented one with a couple of other families and it was great - so convenient to have readily available shade, I think a fridge, etc.

Stayed there 3 or 4 years ago for spring break & high school baseball tournament. It was a bit shabby but was fine for us. Remember the main pool being very crowded & hanging out more at the adult pool. If they are renovating, make sure pools are open. Don't remember the restaurants but we ate more with other team parents so not so much there. Are the rooms suites, that's a bonus over regular hotel room.
