Please recommend a hotel in Milwaukee convenient to Miller Park
My husband and son will be attending a Brewers game this Sunday afternoon. Can you please recommend a hotel in a safe area for one night? I have not been successful on Priceline, even though I bid up to $175 for 3 and 4*! The downtown Hyatt is quoting me $239. Should I take it or can I do better? Thanks!

This weekend is Irish fest, the largest irish Music Festival in the world. Maybe that's why you're having trouble. Are you looking for a room for Saturday or Sunday? The Ambassador, beautifully restored, is $159 for Sunday.

I suggest you check on some of the motels in Brookfield which is just off to the west and an easy shot to the stadium down the freeway. It may be hard to find a room even there because of Irishfest but there are several motels in that area. Check out this site:

Wauwatosa, West Allis, and West Milwaukee are all safe suburbs, as are those even further west and south. West Milwaukee is quite industrial though. If you've got to get something north of the city, pick a suburb way north like Whitefish Bay, Glendale, Fox Point or Bayside.

Thanks. When I phoned back Hyatt to book "just in case," they were already full! So, I ended up booking the downtown Hilton for $259 for Sat. night, which includes free passes to their water park. Oh well, they're staying for free the rest of their trip...Thanks for your help.
