Please please give me a sample outfit for Key West

I know KW is casual which is great but somebody please please give me a sample outfit of what a 32 year old good shape funky woman would wear out to say a fun or hip bar or resturaunt in KW. Please!

Shorts and just a cute shirt. Anything more and you might feel a little out of place. A sundress is good too.

Grglnswsh is right on the money. I can add no more. Except, perhaps, bra optional....

And might I add that when you are done wearing that velvet you might consider taking it and shaping it into the shape of a bottlenose dolphin and use it as a centerpiece of your holiday table. It will be delightful looking.

I went in May and thought the evenings got a little chilly, so I would bring a light sweater. I wore capri pants, lightweight top, and comfortable sandals (KW is a walking town) out at night.

Fashion is right. Make sure you have a comfortable pair of shoes. You will do more walking then you think.

Viv - it took me 3 or 4 trips to Key West to realize that I could quit packing that obligatory "nice" pants outfit I thought I'd need. The dressiest stuff I take now is linen, and I don't take much of it because it's too much trouble. If you want to take a sundress by all means do, but as others have said, the two most important things you'll want are comfortable shoes and something to keep you warm at night. All the bars in KW are basically "fun and hip" and even the most expensive restaurants welcome people in shorts and t-shirts.

I'm the antithesis of a fashion plate but I saw lots of low slung jeans and halter tops or bare midriffs on the 20's and 30's women there on a recent visit. More shorts during the day as it gets very warm in the sun even in winter. We dressed shorts/t's in the day and dressed in the evening like we would for dinner most places in NYC. We were overdressed by KW standards but no one gave it a second glance and we felt comfortable but we were out just for dinner in nicer restaurants - did not visit any bars or clubs. Bottom line is that the vibe is so laid back that almost anything goes. You'll have a great time...

Viv it sounds fine but it all depends on the time of year for your visit. You might get very warm walking around in jeans. Toe rings are very common thing down here so you will fit right in with everyone.
