My husband and I are in our mid- fifties and in good shape. We like hikes up to about 3-4 miles at a time, animal watching, and nature in general.

We plan to fly into Jackson on June 5, and stay in GTNP at Jackson Lake Lodge for two nights. We'd like to do a combo float/rafting trip on one of those days, even though we're worried about being really cold.

From there, we'll stay in YNP four nights -2 at OFI and 2 at Canyon Lodge. We have 2 great books on the parks, but the sheer number of things to do is overwhelming. I guess we just don't want to miss anything!

We'll have 2 nights left after staying at CL, with the last one needing to be spent near the airport. We thought it may be okay to leave those last two open without reserved lodging- outside the park, of course! Any thoughts and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone done the whitewater trip this early in the season? Thoughts on our last two days? Favorite hikes or activities? We are so excited! And I'd love to hear from YOU.
