Please, advice for Seattle hotel during the holidays
I moved to Bainbridge last March and haven't spent much time over in Seattle. I did take the great advice from Fodorites and had a wondrful experience at The Mayflower Park Hotel. I got to go down the street for a root canal. I plan to go back for a night of shopping and looking at the lights. My children are going to Crystal Mt. skiing, leaving Christmas day. They are afraid there isn't enough for me to do, as I don't ski. I have a hard enough time walking. I thought it would be great fun for my son and I to go over to one of the hotels for Christmas dinner and staying a couple of nights to look around Seattle. I've looked at the prices for The Grand Hyatt and for those nights they aren't that bad, that is if they have a sofa bed in the suites. Also I wonder about the steak house being the only place to eat. I'm not crazy about modern hotels but it must be comfortable with such rave reviews. I've also stayed at The Marriott Waterfront. It was very comfortable, but I've stayed there. My criteria, not more than $400 per night( maybe a little more) for rooms or suite,) good food, comfortable beds(a must) and easy to get around Seattle Center. Your help will be appreciated.
I moved from an island in southeast Ga., I loved it there and I love it here. No, the weather has not bothered me. What I love the most are the people. Of course 2 grands help out. Joan

Actually you can also request for a corner room that has a bedroom with a long corridor to the bathroom and sitting area with a sofebed on the other side. For 2-3 people it'll be just as comfortable as the suite just a bit smaller. The rooms are definitely ultra modern no scrolls or flowers on the wall, but they are comfortable to stay in. I keep returning to the Grand Hyatt just because it has the most convenient location & good service. The restaurant used to be a great French restaurant but they replaced it with a non specific so so restaurant. My second choice would be the suites in Sheraton for location & quality, but I haven't stayed there ever since Hyatt opened. There is a playhouse just a block south of the hotel, hopefully they have a christmas performance for you to go. I remember there was a christmas parade on christmas day.

Thanks, Dax, for the reply. I'll look into a corner room at the Hyatt and check out the Sheraton. I wish the Fairmont Olympic had better reviews on trip advisor because it looks so old world. I have to go with where I'll be the most comfortable. Again, many, many thanks.

Sounds wonderful and I think you've got a good deal! I've stayed in the executive suite due to my membership upgrade, it's always worth it to have the lounge in case you don't feel like going out of the hotel.
