I have just found out about this site and think it is great! We are going to be bringing some friends to Charleston and since we have never been there either this is a great help. The woman traveling with us would like to see some or at least one Plantation home. Which one is recommended? thanks for the help.

You could type "Plantation Charleston" in the search box above and choose SC and do quite a bit of reading.
I "topped" an earlier thread asking which is the best plantation to give you a head start.
Happy researching!
Yes, the other plantation thread should be at the top now from me also.
thank you. Before I figured out how to find my post I posted again. Great info...
My favorite was Drayton Hall; historically significant and original.
