Planning Las Vegas - Seattle Vacation in late february- march 2012
We are going to Las Vegas the last week of February 2012 and are going to stay there one full week. We want to go to Hoover, and Grand Canyon. The next week we want to go to Seattle, still deciding if we are going by air or by car. The Road Trip sound great but we want to see different opinions. If we decided the Road Trip, is better to go in a RV van or Rental car with hotels? The primary questions, Worth the energy to Road Trip, the scenery, ect. The Hoover or the Canyon can be made in our way to Seattle?? or is better spend one week in one place and the other in seattle?? Thanks everybody!!!

You are talking February --that would be one long, hellacious and possibly very stormy trip. Snow if you go via Twin Falls and Boise, or rain and fog and snow up I-5 through the Central Valley and Cascades
It would be REALLY slow by RV -- and most rentals don't allow snow chains.
That is not a drive I'd attempt unless it was unavoidable. Easily 24 hours of behind the wheel car time.
So if you want to seeLV and the Grand Canyon plus Seattle in Feb -- you really need to fly.

Don't assume that the Grand Canyon will be all that enjoyable in February either. Very high altitude = ice/snow about. Maybe, maybe not, but do you feel lucky? Plus it's quite a long drive from Las Vegas, so plan accordingly.

You don't say where you are coming from. Check out the "Where do we fly" area of Allegiant Airlines http://www.allegiantair.com/
After you are done in LV fly to Bellingham Washington. In addition to Seattle, you could visit Vancouver, BC.
Both areas would be good to visit in February but driving between them would likely be very dangerous.

In February and March we like to visit Death Valley, the Palm Desert area, and the California Coast from San Diego to San Francisco.
If you are determined to drive to Seattle, take Highway 101 from Eureka, CA, to Astoria, OR, for spectacular ocean views and passable roads.

thank you all. The Palm Desert Idea sound good!! We already make the travel from San Francisco to San Diego a couples of years ago. FYI Im from the Caribbean (Puerto Rico) and we are attending a convention, so, right now We are making brain storming. In this moment the driving idea to Seattle was eliminated, but really want to know if we can enjoy Seattle that time of the year.

If you are going to be in Las Vegas then Death Valley is certainly a place you should consider. It's a beautiful park with plenty to do and see and February would be a great time to visit for a week.
Also not far from Las Vegas is Valley of Fire State Park and Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Both can be done as a day trip from Las Vegas.
Another option could be Zion National Park. They do get some snow but usually not to much in February. I would check before heading out.
