Every time I visit Cleveland it becomes a toss up between Johnny's on Fulton or Parker's on Bridge. I NEVER visit Cleveland without eating at least one meal at Phnom Penh. I could eat there almost every day.

In Amish country (south of Route 30, Holmes County), there are several good family restaurants run by Mennonites, for the most part. One is called the Amish Door but there is a better one that sports a constantly running Choo-Choo train that circles the main eating area, near the ceiling. I'll try to jog my mind and tell which one it is.

Alpine-Alpa is the restaurant I most enjoy in Ohio Amish country. It is between Wilmot and Winesburg. Plain, tasty fare. I especially like the Swiss steak. Other restaurants are The Amish Door in Wilmot, Chalet in the Valley in Charm, Dutch Harvest in Berlin and Der Dutchman, whereabouts forgotten at moment.

Der Dutchman is in Walnut Creek. We usually eat there. The food is served family style. There is also a very good candy store in Walnut Creek called Colbentz, right down the road from Der Dutchman-hand dipped chocolates. If you like baby Swiss cheese, there is a place in Charm, called Guissberg (sp??). Not far from Walnut Creek. They sell several kinds of cheese but we usually get a wheel of the baby Swiss. It doesn't need to be keeped cold until you open it.
