I am new to the board and I'm trying to plan a vacation in September that we can drive to. We live in Florida and we are planning a week long trip with several friends and want there to be plenty to do. Our ages range from 25-35 so nightlife is a plus. Any suggestions would be helpful. WHERE in Fla. will make a big difference. Bigger issue is many places that may be petfriendly will not allow you to leave a pet unattended in a hotel room. Also, Sept. in Fla. can be really hot so you won't be able to leave the pet in the car while you stop to eat etc. Sounds like you need to find a pet sitter. We live in the Tampa area. It's the friend that has the dog and we are planning to rent a house for the week anyway. We just need some ideas as to where to go. We were thinking Myrtle beach but the husband nixxed that one. LOL! Thanks for the help.
I may be a bit late in posting this response, but maybe I can help someone else! The beach that ranked as the best pet friendly beach in the USA is actually in Florida-- Cape San Blas, FL. It's in the FL Panhandle. May want to find a pet friendly rental there next time you visit. The beaches are uncrowded and unspoiled and the dogs are allowed on the beach ANYTIME which is great!
