Pilot Truck Stop Hyati,MO

the service was great but the truck stop was unsafe i fell down i either broke my finger or just or strained it.my leg is all busted up no broken bones but my leg is swollen.no one came to my aide or asked if i was all right.for a company that one the majority of the US Truck Stop you would think they can hire some one qualified to clean the sidewalks clean.instead this company uses the PORTER to do the dirty work. Please watch your step and take your time or PAY $150 to the doctor to set my finger

You are having some interesting travels, and I for one enjoy reading about them, though I wouldn't much enjoy having a fall at a truck stop. Many of the people who post here are traveling at the high end. It is useful to hear from someone who isn't not.

Safe journeys.

I'm going through MO in July. If I stop at the Pilot I'll be sure to watch out for the dangerous sidewalks. Thanks for the heads up.

Did you report your fall to anyone? If you did and nothing was accomplished, you should report it to the home office. I'm sure their insurance company would cover your expenses.

Why should I pay $150 to the doctor to set your finger?

I don't consider a fall anyone's fault, other than the person who is doing the walking. If you fall(whether it is dry, slick, snow, ice, a step up, and step down, a snow covered car stop, whatever the case), it's your own fault.

Fault?

Take two aspirin, lie down, and you will feel better in the morning.

I live in Missouri, and I am really glad to see that someone posted about a major tourist attraction of this area. Keep up the good work, Hobo!

Don't blame Pilot. I understand that it's difficult to find qualified workers to clean the sidewalks clean in Missouri.

Really? Not many Fodor's posters drive down the interstates through the U.S.? Where do you stop to get gas, go to the restroom, buy snacks?

If you read the OP's other posts you will see that he/she is not a typical fodors traveler.

Missouri can be very icy in the winter time. You have to be careful. It isn't possible for all the ice to be removed from a parking lot. You complained about the same thing at your motel.

What kind of shoes are you wearing? Leather soles will kill you on the ice. Stop somewhere and get some shoes with soles that grip.

Cheap Fuel/Snacks at Pilot
Cheap lodging at Motel Six

Don't expect the parking lot and sidewalks to be cleared right away. Besides that, Ice is more difficult than snow to deal with. Yes, you can put out salt. However, that really can be harsh on your sidewalks and driveways.
