Photos from Annapolis on a gorgeous day
Hello all
If you live in the mid-Atlantic, you probably had great weather yesterday - almost like late September, not late August.
I spent part of the day wandering around Annapolis with a friend. He's got even more camera gear than I do, and unlike me, he carries his various lenses with him. So, I borrowed a few to test them out on my camera. I have a 24-105 zoom for my Canon 7D, and he has that as well as a 70-200 and a 17-40. I used his 70-200 telephoto for all the boating shots you see.
Here are some results from the wandering:

To make this into a trip report, we had lunch al fresco at Harry Browne's, and ice cream at Storm Brothers. We also took a harbor cruise boat ride (40 minutes) from the main public dock area.

Annapolis sure is beautiful and how nice to have a gorgeous day to explore it. I've been only once, in late December, and my hands nearly froze each time I had to take a picture as I had to remove my gloves to push the button. Despite the cold snap, there were just so many charming street scenes, I couldn't stop myself from taking pictures!

Thank you Daniel, yestravel, and suewoo. I can't get over what madness 495 is! I saw two almost-accidents yesterday, one of which could have involved me if the two cars hadn't narrowly averted hitting each other.

Brings back memories of our trip to the US in 2007. We stayed with friends in Columbia Maryland and we did a day trip to Annapolis. We also went to a show at the Ramshead Tavern. Love your photos flygirl.

Thank you Nelsonian. We are lucky on the east coast to have a number of picturesque, colonial towns and cities.
Annapolis is so colorful, too.
I didn't get a good shot of the "Treaty of Paris" restaurant, but every time I see it I think of an old friend's quip from several years ago: "Good thing it wasn't the Diet of Worms". hahaha
