Phoenix Temp- Christmas week

My husband and I will be visiting Phoenix from the east coast for the first time Christmas week (December 26-30). What will the temperature be? Will it get much colder at night?
Also, if anybody has any suggestions for us about what to do we would love to hear from you! We are in our late 20's and enjoy hiking and being outside. We will be staying at the Camelback Inn. We plan to go to Sedona and take a Pink Jeep Tour. Other than that, we do not have any plans! Any ideas would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance...

No one knows what the exact temperature will be in Phoenix from Dec 26-30. It could be unseasonably cold or unseasonably warm. Check the temperatures right now on weather.com, those should be as close of a guess as anything else to what temperatures mimght be in a few weeks. Look at the record high and low for today's date and the average and then you'll get an idea of how warm or cold it could get this time of year in the Phoenix area.

Chances are it will be 60's-70's during the day and 50's at night but you never know.

Use the search function of this forum to search for "Arizona" or "sedona" or "phoenix" and you can find out lots of ideas from all the past posts about the area. Then you can ask more specific questions about things you think might be interesting or fun for you to do.

Doing a search on here will be helpful as Andrew suggests. "Any ideas" is pretty vast.

Try looking here too as Fodors Destination Guides have great info:

Hope this helps...

Some suggestions: drive to Cave Creek and take a horseback ride thru the desert at MTM Ranch; visit Taliesen West (Frank Lloyd Wright) in Scottsdale; window shop, or really shop, at Kierland Commons and eat at an outdoor restaurant there.

Thanks for the info! I realize that there is no way to get the specific weather but I wanted an idea of how to pack. I did check out weather.com and they predicted 64. Sounds good to me!
OrangeTravelCat- Thanks for your tips. Cave Creek sounds interesting and I would love to check out the FLW house. I am not sure if I can talk DH into shopping though!
I realize my question was vast but we are trying not to plan every second of the trip and people on this site have great ideas!

Regarding the driving from PHX to GR and back in one day question you posed on your other thread: it's not crazy, but why not just spend a night in Sedona as long you're planning on going there anyway, and make the GC a day trip from Sedona? Otherwise, yes, it would be kinda crazy to daytrip to Sedona one day, and then daytrip to GC another day. Ok, maybe not crazy, but a definite waste of time.

I responded here because it'll help everyone (including yourself) if the answers to your questions are all in one place, along with your general plans so far. If I hadn't read this thread I wouldn't have known you were going to Sedona already, and without that info I probably would've said that a daytrip to GC is reasonable.

How ironic that I would offer a guess about temperatures in Phoenix Christmas week and wind being stuck there overnight trying to fly home...and finding temperatures in the mid-40s with rain and fog! My flight out of Phoenix today was delayed two hours due to fog - most of the flights were. People at PHX were claiming they couldn't even remember a fog delay in Phoenix before.

Oh, well, I hope the temperatures are backup to the mid-60s by December 26!

What will the temperature be?

Typically in the mid-60's, maybe 10 degrees colder if there's a 'storm', 10 degrees warmer if we're lucky.

According to the newspaper the forecast highs for the next 7 days are 64 (Christmas day), 65, 67, 68, 70, 73, 74 ...

Will it get much colder at night?

The forecast low for those same days ranges from 39 to 44 ...

The only thing certain about weather...is that there is no certainty and it is always changing.

Bring a sweater/sweatshirt/fleece for nights and you should be fine.

Dress in layers for the day; that way you can take off or add back on as needed.

Don't stress over this...it will be what it will be -- just enjoy it!
