I am considering the Hotel Palomar for a small gathering of women over a long weekend in April. If you know the hotel, what is your opinion of it? Thanks.

We will be staying there next May for a wedding, so that doesn't help much now. What about it are you wanting to know?

Great reviews on TA. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...x_Arizona.html

I Kimptons.

Just saw that this was for April 2014. The construction should be done above the hotel. We will just miss each other!

Hi, cmcfong, I was there in March. I liked the hotel a lot but I wouldn't say the neighborhood is the best for a woman's gtg. It seems to be a typical convention center area, which is the reason we were there. The sports arenas are within walking distance and the light rail runs in front of the hotel but I wasn't impressed by the restaurants nearby.

Back to the hotel...it's very much like other Kimptons with a fun vibe and friendly staff. There are no drawers in the rooms, however, only a wardrobe for clothes. They may have added them after our stay since the hotel is new. There is a lovely outdoor bar/pool area but it was closed two nights during our stay for private parties. Our room overlooked the pool but we were up a few floors. I think it could be noisy if you were in one of the rooms overlooking the pool but only one or two stories up.

I hope this helps.

Birdie, that is exactly what I needed! Thank you so much. Every review which mentioned the "great location" focused on the sports complexes .
