I live outside Phila., and we are not affected by the blackout. Business as usual.

The art museum is great. No dress code, and not quite sure what you mean by "very touristy". Across the street is a small Rodin Museum, which is also worthwhile.

The Phila. Art Museum is wonderful. There are probably more Philadelphians than out of towners there. I also recomend the Rodin museum. If you want a fun museum (not art) go to the Franklin Institute also.

The Art museum area is one of my favorite places to go rollerblading and biking. The Art Museum lies along an 8 mile loop that parallels the Schuylkill River. The loop is paved and flat - perfect for rollerblading (or walking).

Have you toured the Eastern State Penitentiary? I'm not quite sure of the hours - it's the old jail in the Fairmount section - about a mile or so from the art museum. The design was considered revolutionary at the time, but it had been abandoned and in disrepair for years. Then they decided to open it for tours. It was spooky walking through the cells and corridors amid the peeling paint. If I remember correctly, when we took the tour about 10 or so years ago I think they made us wear hard hats.

Everything in Philly is just fine. The art museum is excellent, second only to the Met in The City.

For great cheesesteaks try Geno's at (th and Passyunk, which is my favorite. Right across from Geno's is Pat's which is also popular as is Jim's Steaks at 4th and South Streets.

For something different go to the Mutter Museum.

Philly is a great food city. What type of food do you like? I can give you more specifics.
