Petite Suites at Treasure Island

My boyfriend and I are staying in a Petite Suite at Treasure Island in May and I was wondering if anyone who has stayed there recently could give me their opinions of the rooms (after renovations a couple of years ago) and the hotel. We'll be there for four nights and can't wait. Thanks.

I thought the petite suites at Treasure Island were pretty good when I stayed there last year. (The only problem I had was getting the heating/cooling set just right, but then again that's pretty common at most hotels.)

Treasure Island is a nice resort/casino/hotel that I can recommend. TI is not as upscale as say Beliagio, Venetian or Mandalay Bay but is a good high 3 star for Vegas.

The best thing going is its great location on the center of the strip and that they have been very agressive on their room rates. The less time spent in your room in Vegas, the better.

The only bummer is the long hike from the parking garage to your room. Carry pleanty of $1 bills for tips and valet.

I would also recommend asking for a room on a high floor. There are two sets of elevators; one set for 2-24 and one for 25 and up. There was usually a wait and sometimes a long line for the lower set but never for 25 and up.

Check out the Treasure Island web site for a layout of the rooms.

Here is the address for the petite suite:

We split up our time between Treasure Island and Paris. The rooms at Paris are nicer...rate was better too. You shouldn't be disappointed with TI...I found the public areas a little outdated in spots,i.e., the casino is really dark with very low ceilings. The buffet was not very good...just basic, really.

Thanks Dave for the info.

Annemarie - I was torn between staying at Paris and TI. According to the websites, the standard rooms are the same size at both, but TI was cheaper. What about the lack of closet space at Paris? (The rate for a petite suite at TI seemed reasonable and its 630' with two bathrooms.) What did you think about the pool area at Paris? I've read that both have small pools. I also understand that the restaurants are better overall at Paris and it is attached to Bally's which has a better casino. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Well...Paris does have a lot of different rates...don't even know if your reservation is firm or if you still want to look into other places...had you asked for their Triple A rate or internet special? Rooms at TI are just fine and the suites will be even nicer. The rooms are the same size but the furnishings are much newer at Paris and thdir is more work put into the decor. Bathrooms are very nice...much nicer than at the TI. The ratings books I read did put Paris ahead of TI. The pool area at the TI had a tropical feel to it whereas the one at Paris was more formal. The seating around the pool is more spacious at Paris than at TI. A lot of kids were swimming at TI and my kids complained of the water smelling and tasting(residual...no they did not drink it!) "bad",i.e., like urine almost. Now we went in July and it was hot and crowded so I don't know. The restuarants at Paris were really gourmet...we only used the bakery for moning breakfasts and the pastries were to die for. The breakfast was at least `15.00 for the buffet and upwards of 20.00 for dinner...too pricey for our family especially with the Canadian exchange. Mon Ami Gabi had a very nice atmosphere and it gets very good ratings but again we were tallking at least 10.00 for starting a meal. TI's champagne buffet was just okay...Mirage next door is supposed to be better. We would take a buffet at around 2 -3...lunch time prices...Caesar's and Mandalay Bay's were great...under 10.00 a piece. We never tried any of the other restaurants at TI...just the Starbucks and Ben and Jerrys. Although TI's casino was very busy, I would say it was the most unattractive casino on the strip. The pool areas at Caesar's Palace, Mandalay Bay and Mirage are all superior to TI or Paris. Gosh...I's jumping all over here...am I helping you?

Annemarie - Thanks so much. All the info you provided was exactly what I needed, especially the buffet reviews. I can change my reservations and may do so. So thanks again.

My husabnd and I travel to Vegas at least twice a year. We have been returning to Treasure Island lately. We have been VERY pleased with TI. Their staff is great, the rooms are nice. If you get a suite. Request one that is overlooking the bay in which the pirate show takes place. We have stayed at many other resort hotels in Vegas and find that for the $$, Treasure Island is the best deal.We love it and will continue to return. The casino is great. I don't think it is dark and have never noticed "low" ceilings.
One thing that was not mentioned was the Buffet at the RIO. A must!!!
Don't change your reservations. Treasure Island is just fine. Unless you are looking for really upscale (The Bellagio)they are all very compairable.
HAVE FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
