Best beach is Pensacola Beach. Eat seafood at Casino Beach Grille, right by the fishing pier on the Gulf side. Drive to the west end of the island to Fort Pickens (a national park so you have to pay to get in). The beaches here are pristine and you can walk around the point along the water. If it's around sunset you'll be in for a treat.

The Naval Museum in Pensacola is also a worth-see, as is Fort Barrancas (also on the Navy Base). Downtown Pensacola has been undergoing a revitalization and there are lots of shops and restaurants down there.

We did eat at Casino, food was good but not great. Service a was excellent. Beach was really nice but crowded. We went over in the evening and traffic was a nightmare. Having a toll booth at the end of the bridge is a horrible idea, plus everything is packed right in one area which causes massive congestion. Drove back over the next morning with No problem and drove the entire road north to Navarre Beach. Water gets even better looking as you drive .

Glad you enjoyed your trip...yup, the traffic is horrible getting to the beach and it's only going to get worse. Glad you got to see the National Seashore on your way to Navarre. That and Fort Pickens are really the highlight of Pensacola Beach because those areas are always left in their natural state with no sand re-nourishment, etc.
