I am looking for a rental (close to beach would be a bonus but not absolutely necessary). 2 night rental for group retreat March 8 and 9, 2013. Decided to try to find a house rather than a bunch of hotel rooms. We do not need anything fancy; in fact, the more rustic/casual, the better! Within 30 minutes to the University of West Florida is necessary....I am also looking at VRBO.
Anyone have any ideas?

If you are a group of students (which seems to be the case) be prepared for owners either not willing to rent or requiring a very large security deposit.
My younger DD and some friends tried to do this last year and ended up staying in a resort instead. The best deal they could get on a house was a $15,000 cash deposit up front - in addition to the rental cost.
