Pelee Island

What you are looking for is Pointe Pelee which is a Canadian national park or site. I would try searching an Ontario general site or key word Pt. Pelee into a search engine. Pointe Pelee is not an island but a finger of land jutting into lake Erie and it is a major migratory stop off for many birds. We used to love to go there when we lived in Detroit. I think there is a ferry from Ohio that drops off someplace relatively close, but it has been a while.

Go to Yahoo! Canada and key in "Pelee Island". Numerous sites are identified ranging from the winery to the pheasant hunt. FYI to those of you who think Point Pelee is a national park, you are correct. It is the southern most part of Canada jutting out into Lake Erie. Pelee Island is south of Point Pelee Park, in the middle of Lake Erie. It is on a latitude approximately equal to that of San Francisco.
