PCH in Orange County

My boyfriend and I are spending a weekend in Anaheim (he has a convention in Anaheim the following week) and would like to spend one day driving the PCH. Any suggestions on restaurnts and bars heading South on the PCH from Huntington Beach preferably with a view?

Check out places in Laguna Beach (south of HB right on PCH). Las Brisas is a well-known place to grab a drink and watch beautiful ocean vistas. Splashes, at the Surf and Sand Hotel, is even better-- the food's actually quite good there. The bar at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel (actually in Dana Point) has a nice ocean view too.

Will you be spending time at Disney? There's nothing else to do in Anaheim, I hope you know (well, there's Downtown Disney, but come on...). In fact, in your shoes I would have reserved the weekend in Huntington or Laguna Beach-- much nicer places with actual stuff to see and do.

Check out the old Hotel Laguna in Laguna Beach - their outdoor bar is excellent! Very casual, great views, etc.

Thank you for your response. No we don't anticipate spending time in Disney. Would you recomend a visit to Catalina Island?

If you want something really nice, have lunch or a sunset dinner at the Studio at the Montage Resort in Laguna Beach. It's pretty fancy so lunch is a bit funner. Have fun in Laguna.

I grew up in that area and love it! One recommendation for a place to eat is The Beach House in downtown Laguna off PCH. If you get there before 5 or 5:30 (call and check)the menu is like half price. It is right on the water and has beautiful views. I love the lobster there if you are a lobster fan. My favorite beach in that area is Tablerock. It is further south on PCH in South Laguna. It is a locals beach with a relaxing enviroment. If you want directions I can give them to you. If you like bodyboarding/skimboarding I can give you reccomendations on that too.

Hope you have a great time!

If you make it as far south as San Diego there are some great scenic bars in La Jolla. I'd check out citysearch.com.
