Parking near Omni Parker House

We will be staying at the Omni Parker House for a few days in June. We will have a car, and the hotel parking is $42 a night. Does anyone know of parking close by that would be less expensive?

Thanks.

You should check www.boston.bestparking.com for the best rates in the area for the dates you'll be in Boston.

The Boston Common Garage (http://www.massconvention.com/bcg.html) may have the best rates--$27 for 24 hours weekdays, and $11 per day on weekends. You could drop your luggage at the hotel, park the car, and walk back from the garage. Should be a 15 minutes walk at the maximum.

best parking is a good place to start.

I personally use Central Parking, which operates a number of parking garages in the city. If you go to their website, you can download and print out a web coupon which gives you a slightly discounted rate than the posted rate. Note that the coupon usually expires within 2 weeks of printing, so don't print it until you're ready to use.

I imagine there will be no "in and out" privileges, meaning you might end up paying more for a given day's parking if you leave and return the same day. That is, because you leave, the clock starts over when you return, so you might lose the benefits of the 24-hour rate.

Also, I think you'll need more than one coupon if you use Central Parking and plan on driving the car anywhere during your stay (i.e., one for each time you exit).

If your days include a weekend, least expensive parking is usually anywhere in the financial district. The driver can drop the other with the bags off at the hotel, park the car, then walk or taxi back to the hotel.
