OK,
So last night my husband and I were in the mood for oysters (kumimoto to be precise... sp??). We decided to got to Jardiniere because we have never been disappointed with their oysters. Where do you go for fresh oysters in San Francisco?

Swan Oyster Depot
Only open for lunch, only counter seating. If you're bent on kumamoto's call ahead to find out what they have that day. Everything's fresh, they serve 'em till they run out. It's a cool place and the shuckers are very friendly. Go at 2:00 to avoid lines.
Sharon, have you been to Zuni? Great oysters, though not sure if they have your kumimotos. I'll second Mike's suggestion of Swan Oyster Depot. There's often a line.
Love Zuni!! Great suggestion, I always forget about their oysters.
I want to like Swan Oyster Depot... I really do... but I am often too cold to enjoy it. I guess I want a cushy chair and a martini with my oysters... and Swan Oyster is more of a beer and keep your jacket on spot. Great food, nonetheless.
Any others?
I can tell you that the oysters at O'Reilly's in North Beach were warm and HUGE. Not what I want in an oyster.
