Outer Banks traffic

It doesn't seem as if this topic has been discussed in a while. Haven't been to OBX in 3 years, we're heading back to Corolla next week. Our rental is Sun to Sun but we're planning on staying in Richmond VA overnight Sat. I believe this is about 2 1/2-3 hours from OBX. What can we expect in terms of traffic on Sunday mid morning?
