Is Memorial Day Weekend (May 25 - 27) too cold to swim at Nags Head? Thanks.

Hi Linda! The ocean will probably be a bit brisk at the end of May. Folks from up north don't seem to mind, but us Southerners prefer water warmer. Usually by the first of July, it's good for swimming and by late August it's excellent. Still, if you're only going in for brief periods, or to splash or surf the waves you should be fine.

What about jelly-fish? Do they prefer warmer or cooler waters? Is there a specific "season" for them?

Jellyfish, or stinging nettles as they're usually called, don't come in til August, maybe late july.
