Oregon Hotel Planning -- A/C?
Not meaning Amalfi Coast, lol, but with the current nationwide heatwave, I'm wondering if I will need to consider finding hotels in Oregon with air conditioning.
I have Portland all set (5th Ave. Suites), but still need some advice on hotels to stay at in Bend and Eugene. Anyone stay at the Marriott residence in Eugene? It has a/c (if needed) but the River Inn doesn't seem to. Thanks for all advice -- can't believe I've made most of the reservations and am just about ready to roll!

In Bend check out St. Francis School - it's not a school anymore, but a b&b. Don't know if they have ac but it's worth the "sacrifice"! Otherwise look at the Phoenix Inn (location is great) or my other favorite, Inn at the Seventh MOuntain. The residence inn in Eugene is nice, like all the other Mariott properties.

Valley River Inn is definatly the best location in Eugene - but Marriott is OK too - Valley River better amenities- deck on the river for dining.
Sun River Resort is great- its just a short drive into Bend.
Old St Francis School in Bend is also fun place to stay

I think you would be better off at the Marriott in Eugene (or some place not too far from I-5).
The only advantage of the River Inn is that it is downtown, but there is nothing of interest downtown.
We recently stayed at the Hampton Inn, which I would recommend whole-heartedly except that it is ten miles from I-5.
We recently had an enjoyable meal at Bepe and Gianni's--a very well-established restaurant.
