Orchard Hotel or Larkspur in San Fran?

I will be staying in San Fran the weekend of May 28th-30th. I will have been biking through the wine country the previous week and just want to get a somewhat reasonably priced hotel for the weekend. I found the Orchard Hotel and the Larkspur (both in the Union Square area) as potential choices. Anyone know if one is better than the other? Thank you!

I have never stayed at the Orchard Hotel, Leema, but for decades I have stayed at the Villa Florence Hotel which was a Kimpton Hotel until the Larkspur Group purchased it. I love the location and the hotel.

The Villa Florence Hotel is on Powell St., just a half block south of Union Square/Geary. Powell is on a slight upgrade from Market, going north, but not what I would call a hill, Dayenu. And it is flat where the hotel is located.
