Am looking for a ranch experience for the wife & I in the US or S-America in November '07 for about a week. It's her 40th birthday and want something special for her to remember.
Looking for hard & fun days, but some luxury in the evenings.
Would prefer the US, but will travel South if needs be for the weather.
Can someone suggest a location/country that would be great for a week in the saddle, but then also good for another totally different type of experience.ie: white water rafting, wine country, etc...

Most guest ranches close for the winter, so you might be out of luck. Try somewhere in South Texas, like the Mayan, and you may be able to find one that's still open...

I've done two of their trips (Bitterroot Ranch, Wyoming and California Coastal endurance riding in Mendocino) and they were two of the greatest weeks of my life. Recommend them highly.
November riding will be limited, but they may have some options for you - somewhere in the world!
