One night Stay in Miami, tail end of Honeymoon.

My fiance and I are going to be flying through Miami on our way home from Belize for our Honeymoon. We will only be in Miami for a total of about 14 hours, and need some help on where we should stay. Would it even be worth our time to venture in to Coral Gables? I am not interested in doing South Beach mainly just because of our timing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your 14 hours - is that after you've cleared Customs and Immigration and left the airport, and before you need to be back at the airport? Or is that the total time of your layover?

Good thought, we will really only have about 10 hours. If I choose to stay at the Airport, what would my best hotel option be?

Sorry, I'm not that familiar with the MIA hotel options, but I was just hoping to keep this topic going for you, and I thought that one key point would be whether you REALLY have 14 hours, which might affect people's suggestions. And with only 10 hours, yeah, I'd stay near the airport.

Be very, very careful where you stay near the airport. Read TripAdvisor carefully. The worst night, well, maybe second worst night, we have ever spent in a hotel was at the Holiday Inn near the airport.

The only time I've overnighted at MIA was a similar trip returning from Central America. We stayed at the Sofitel and had a very good night, but it was several years ago, don't know what the current reviews are. Good luck - and congrats!!
