One day in Dallas

My husband and I have a business trip next week to Dallas. We have 1 full free day on Saturday. Any suggestions on what to do?

Dallas covers a big area and there's lots of different things to do/see. It wuld help if you gave us some idea of your interests.

In the meantime check out:

The Sixth Floor Museum/Texas Schoolbook Depository
The Dallas Arboretum
The George Bush Presidential Museum & Library
Dallas Museum of Art
The Perot Museum of Nature & Science
Nasher Sculpture Center
Frontiers of Flight Museum

Thank you! We are sight seers and love to immerse ourselves in the local area. We are staying at the Gaylord Texas if that helps at all?

I would put the 6th Floor Museum and the Bush Presidential Library at the top of your list as these are two attractions unique to Dallas. If it is a nice day then tack on the Arboretum or Nasher Sculpture Garden to enjoy the outdoors.

I am born and raised...stay centrally located in the Uptown/Downtown area. Downtown lacks a lot but the Kennedy experience is a good one. Take the McKinney Avenue Trolly through Uptown (which is walking distance from downtown) and look at all the construction.

The Dallas Museum of Art offers free admission and is always a treat.

You could hop off and have something to eat in State Thomas or right off McKinney Avenue. The West Village is good for that. If you're in Dallas and want an "experience" go for Tex-Mex at Mi Cocina in Highland Park Village or the West Village (both very close to downtown) or go super authentic at Avila's or Mia's.

The Ritz Carlton in Uptown is also a great place for drinks.

Stampede 66 is a wonderful upscale, Texas-themed restaurant for dinner.

All of these restaurants are within the Uptown/Downtown area.
