Omni Shoreham selected - priceline $80/night

Need reassurance. Decided to try priceline for the first time. Was hoping for a 4 star in foggy bottom, expanded my selection to Dupont Circle/Woodley and got Omni Shoreham. We're going 6/23-25 and have an event in Georgetown one evening. Wanted a hotel that was a quick cab to Georgetown and easy to get to sightseeing via metro or on foot. I think I did ok, seeing as how I was going to spend $150-$190 through Expedia for Omni, Westin Grand or Wyndham City Center. Any reassurance, input would be appreciated!

I think you will be very happy. The hotel is in Woodley Park, which is just north of Dupont Circle, across Rock Creek. Woodley is a great neighborhood with several restaurants, the zoo, and a metro stop. A great website that shows neighborhood information around metro stops is www.stationmasters.com.

Also, you will be walking distance from Adams Morgan, which is an interesting neighborhood. Adams Morgan is the "funky" part of town, where you will find unusual shops, tons of restaurants, and a busy nightlife scene. The shops/restaurants are concentrated on 18th Street and Columbia Street.

You could also walk to Dupont in about 15 minutes. Just head south on Connecticut, the main street through Woodley Park. The Cathedral is close as well. In other words, your hotel should be great.

It's a good deal. The Omni is quite nice.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I am now more relieved. Looking forward to my brief getaway from the 3 kiddos. Thanks again!
