We were in Olympic Park in August and it has to be one of our favorite National Parks because it is not only beautiful, but there are many different types of things to see. There are several places to enter the park and see very different scenery. Definitely see Hurricane Ridge, Ho Rain Forest, and near the Ho Rain forest there's a park of the Park that is on the ocean that is also beautiful (I can't remember the name). Hurricane Ridge is right near Port Angeles and there are many places to stay there. Also, if you're interested, from Port Angeles, you can take the ferry across to Victoria on Vancouver Island, Canada, which is also a really neat trip. Have fun!

Good suggestions above. Lodging suggestions include Klaloch Lodge and Lake Crescent Lodge. There is also a very nice Best Western called Sequim Bay Inn. You should walk out on Dungeness Spit and visit Port Townsend.

We were in the Olympic Nat'l. Park summer of '96. We stayed at the Lake Quinault Lodge and it was great. The restaurant was good, and the view from the lodge was gorgeous. Very relaxing, and the hydrangeas were blooming beautiful blue flowers. Sloping green lawn towards lake with lots of seating for contemplation.

Have to agree with Marcia - Lake Quinault Lodge is great - we were there in summer of 1995 - hiked through the rain forest, boated on the lake, had great food in the restaurant and just really relaxed. Would return in a heartbeat.

Marstan: Hurricane Ridge has the best views in the park. Lake Crescent and its lodge are also nice and secluded. Port Townsend is a wonderful town. I stayed at Manresa Castle, which overlooks the town and Puget Sound. I've heard good things about the 3 Crabs restaurant in Sequim and had excellent dungeness at the Sea Galley in Port Townsend. Also in PT is Fort Worden State Park, where scenes from "An Officer and a Gentleman" were filmed. On a clear day you can see Mt. Baker from the parade grounds.
