Also trying to determine nicest area at Lake of the Ozarks and preferences for resorts/hotels. Prefer newer hotel with amenities of water sports (jet skiing, etc), restaurant. Want to go VERY soon, please help! would love to hear from you if you've experience with either destination. Thanks.

I was at the Lake of the Ozarks for July 4th 1998. The very best place to stay in my opinion is the Lodge of Four Seasons. It is not inexpenseive, however, you can park your car and be totally entertained for however lon you are there. They have a spa, golf, horseback riding, pools, 3 or 4 restaurants, a movie theatre and bowling. It was a lot of fun!!
