Oklahoma (Lee Wiley).
Never been on this part of the forum section....Usually go to the Europe Forum.
I live in Scotland,U.K....I have always been a fan of a singer called Lee Wiley...She was a superb jazz singer from Oklahoma....Has anyone ever been to her home town to visit...I am curious as to whether they have a museum,or have her house on display? She was a one in a million singer....Actually,a guy here in Glasgow said that he was astonished that someone else was such a big fan.....She does not get a great deal of publicity here.....But what a voice !!!!

Carioca4ed - I love Lee Wiley, she was an amazing singer. Unfortunately, I don't think she ever got the recognition that she deserved and other than jazz critics and a small, eclectic group of the public, has never been very well known as an artist. I'm not sure if there is any museum anywhere for her.

She is one of the all time greats of jazz singers. She made a recording of "I've Got A Crush On you", which is played often today. She was married to the great pianist Jess Stacey, who played with Benny Goodman for many years.
