Happy Anniversary.

Both are great.
Seascape Resort in Aptos. Beautiful!
Tickle Pink is in the Carmel Highland's area, very nice, it is across the street from the ocean but the property has gorgeous views. Next door is the Highland's Inn which is also very, very nice with a swimming pool, grand lobby and two restaurants on-site. Pacific's Edge is amazing.

The Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa is very luxurious. It is right on the ocean, the have a very nice spa there with beautiful views. The Duck Club is their restaurant which is excellent. ***kim***
Thanks so much to everyone. Wish I had known about this forum earlier!! Will look into these hotels plus Bernardus? Stonepine?L'Auberge? Any thoughts? After this trip going to Rome and then to London to visit son. Usually stay at the Hassler in Rome and the Berkeley in London. Would love some other suggestions. TY
L'Auberge in Carmel is supposed to be very nice, it is not on the ocean, tho. Bernardus is a beautiful property located in Carmel Valley, not on the ocean either. ***kim***

Second makai's suggestions!
Add to the list.
Inn at Spanish Bay
The Lodge at Pebble Beach

TY I have to keep reminding myself that there is a BIG difference between "ocean view" and "ocean front" Living on the east coast I can't believe that there aren't more hotels on the ocean in CA. But thanks for the great suggestions. This is becoming a full time job... a fun one!!
