Oak Park or area lodging

Jump to last reply

I will be in Illinois for the first week in April. I'll be staying outside of Chicago for most of that time but I am looking for a place to stay for one or two nights in the Oak Park area - my brother died and I will need to take care of some things at his house (in Berwyn) and also visit with some relatives (northwest side of Chicago and Arlington Heights). I grew up near Oak Park and liked the area, it's convenient to my brother's and other relatives' homes, and near the L (I'm hoping to visit the Art Institute and am considering taking the Lake Street L) but the lodging options are limited, at least according to TripAdvisor reviews.

So I'm hoping that Fodorites can make some recommendations about lodging. It doesn't have to be in Oak Park, but I'd like to stay somewhere in the general area.

Thanks in advance.
