OAHU shark cages, diving/snorkeling, where to stay besides Waikiki, misc ?s

Jump to last reply

We will be in Oahu for 6 days.

In January we will be in Waikiki for 4 nights, then either stay there or somewhere else for 2 nights (North Shore).

We are very adventurous and nature loving.

What are the top things to do regarding nature and/or adventure?

Are the helicopter rides good or is that best for the other islands?

One thing we want to do are the shark cages. (thoughts on good outfit?)

We also want to see Pearl Harbor. Does that take an entire day? I'm assuming taxis are avaible for this from Waikiki?

Should we rent a car just for the 2 days that we may stay away from Waikiki (North Shore or any other suggestions)? In other words, is there other transportation to get around to different points and activities?

Is the water freezing in January? Any suggestions for good diving or snorkeling site? Worth bringing our diving gear?

Thank you!
