Aside from the obvious - Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head - there's a gillion others -
Arizona Memorial/USS Missouri
Tantalus
Punchbowl
the North Shore
Hanama Bay
Makaha
Dole Plantation
International Market Place
Iolani Palace/Bishop Museum
Chinatown/Hotel Street
Lanikai Beach/Waimanalo Beach/Waimea Bay
and so many more my mind went blank!
As far as restaurants - there a so many of all different tastes and costs - without knowing what you're looking for it's hard to list any. I will, however, tell you about one I absolutely loved - out in Kailua there's a little place called Boots & Kimo's and they serve the BEST macadamia nut pancakes in the world! Don't miss them! There are several different discount coupon books you can pick up all over town and they have coupons for lots of restaurants and activities.

Much depends on where you are from, what your interests are, and how much you are willing to spend.
Hawaii is one of the most pluralistic societies in the United States and the island of Oahu, as the regional capital of Oceania, is unsurpassed in the diversity of shopping, cultural attractions, and recreational pursuits, all the while offering the security and safety of American political and economic institutions. Not to mention culinary excellence.
If you are unexposed to Asian communities, this is your chance. Among others, Honolulu's Chinatown is one of the oldest and certainly the most exotic and mysterious in the western United States.
Compact and informative tours are offered by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii (Tuesdays, 9:30 am, $5, call (808) 533-3181, and the Chinese Culinary Arts Society of Hawaii, Thursdays, 8:30 am, email

Ditto on Waimanolo and Laniki Beaches. Also Kaneohe (sp) beach. Oahu has the most beautiful beaches of all hte islands. Too bad people only think of Oahu as Waikiki. The people there are beautiful too!
