Oahu - Hanohano Room
Is the food here filling and worth the $30 average price for each entree? We will mostly be dining here for the highrise view of Waikiki and Diamond Head...the one from the website looks amazing and hoping to get some nice photo shots.
Can anyone tell me about Neptune's Garden restaurant in Pacific Beach Hotel. This seems to be a bit more fine dining compared to the Oceanarium, in the same hotel (but Oceanarium doesn't seem to score to high in the food reviews). How would food at Neptune's compare with Hau Tree Lanai at the New Otani?
Thanks for any info.

I would definitely choose Hau Tree Lanai over Neptunes. get there before dark so you can watch the beach and the sunset.
Hanohano room....one of those places that knows you are there for the view, so the food takes second priority. Do they still do brunch? That might be a better value for your money.

Thanks, for the info Icuy. Bf seems to be slightly in awe at the thought of dining next to a 3 story aquarium, but I like the outdoor oceanview dining better.
Is Hanohano room open at sunset for people who just want cocktails or do you have to have dinner reseravations? I guess I can email them to find out also. I just love seeing all those twinkling lights at dusk stretching from Waikiki Beach to Diamond Head.

You can go to the Hanohano room for just drinks. There is a bar near the entrance and also a lounge in the center of the restaurant. I was just there this past week and just went for drinks in the lounge.

it sounds like the meal may not be worth the price tag here, so I think I'll take all your suggestions and just stop by for cocktails and the view. Is there a dress code requirement or will a skirt and "dress" sandals do?
Thanks!
Thanks!
