NYC Street Fairs

Thinking about trip to NYC in spring. I cannot find calendar for street fairs and special events for 2008.
Would greatly appreciate help.
Thanks.

I don't think the list is updated just yet. There are several producers of street fairs in the city and they start right around Easter and go until just before Thanksgiving. There is a street fair every Sunday and now most Saturdays as well. When I see the list for 2008, I will let you know.

I would imagine that this site gets updated:

http://www.newyorkled.com/nyc_events_Street_Fairs.htm

Have fun!

Another good site is www.nycstreetfairs.com but the listing is still 2007.

The list should be updated I would think in the early spring.

I suspect that most of these other websites get their information directly from the horse's mouth--the CAU, the NYC government agency that gives the permits for street events. As others have mentioned, nothing much is listed yet for 2008, but check here periodically for lists of all fairs , parades, etc

I like the street fairs too... the best thing about them is being able to stroll down the middle of the street and not worry (as much) about being run over by a car!

I do feel bad for hotels along their routes though....their valet services are nonexistent during the street fairs..oh well.

The 2008 list of street fairs is now posted at www.nycstreetfairs.com. The first fair is on Sat April 19th in Times Square.

Funny to be updating this post today, since it's 70 degrees here in the city. It feels like spring is already here,,,,,,,sigh,,,,,

There are a couple of crafts fairs that are worthwhile but most street fairs sell sock, kettle corn, and trinkets and vary little from one to another.
