The reason I posted it is many people still have fears about visiting NY. And although no one can guarantee another's saferty, it is safer than anu other city.

I still liked it better in the seventies and early eighties.

What's amazing is that so many people head to cities that are hotbeds of violent crime - like Memphis, Atlanta and Detroit and never think anything of it. Well, maybe not Detroit.

And then ask if they need to carry their money in their shoes in NYC. (How can you walk with money in your shoe anyway?) Or if it's safe to go to Central Park (which any day with decent weather has tens of thousands of New Yorkers in all areas).

Sigh, I liked it better when I could greet people with the line "Welcome to New York, I'm your personal mugger..."

Times Square certainly had more character back then. There ahs to something between hookers and Disney.

True-closer to hookers in dress, closer to Disney in song choice

Somehow, I can't make the connection between Aduchamp1 and The Naked Cowboy, having met the former but only having seen photos of the latter. LOL!

When they suggested closing Times Square, I told them it would cheaper if I dressed like the Naked Cowboy. But no, they had to put up all those expensive car impedimenst and now the city has fianncial problems.
