NYC-help deciding between 2 transportation options

My friend and I will be driving to NYC next weekend and are considering staying at the travel inn, which has free parking. Our original plan was to park the car in Metropark, NJ and then take a train in. But with free parking at the travel inn, I'm tempted to try the drive in.

Suggestions? We'd be driving in on a saturday morning and driving out on a tuesday late morning.

Driving in on a Saturday morning shouldn't be too bad , but the earlier the better always applies.
If you come in by the Lincoln Tunnel you're only 2 blocks from the Travel Inn.

On most Tuesdays, after the morning rush you should be fine outbound. Again the proximity to the tunnel helps a lot!

Don't be tempted to drive in the city once you're here, though

Drive. We've stayed at the Travel Inn many times for the free parking. No problems driving in/out.

One nice thing about the Travel Inn are all the restaurants and watering holes as you head north on 9 Avenue. But, there are tons of terrific places within a few blocks in other directions.
